Course Objective TThis in-service covers activity programs that help seniors and adults with dementia maintain their functional abilities through active involvement in individual and group activities in a residential community setting or home. The learner will be able to foster in each senior a sense of personal worth, individuality, dignity, and independence; and to promote social, physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This in-service is a good resource for professional caregivers, activity staff and volunteers in assisted living, memory care homes and nursing homes. It also provides a collection of activities and recommendations useful in designing activities for the residents.
