Course Objectives: This in-service educates professional caregivers about stroke. It will increase their awareness and knowledge of stroke, including risk factors, signs and symptoms, protocols for treatment, rehabilitation options, and patient quality of care issues. The Center for Disease Control reports Stroke is the 4th leading cause of death in the US, with one person dying every 4 minutes as a result. It is essential to educate staff to recognize warning signs and the importance of immediate treatment for stroke victims.
